As one of Shepherd Neame’s most historic pubs, the East India Arms is now a stopping-off point on the City of London - Welcome to the Empire walking tour. 

Chosen by Airbnb as one of its London Experiences, the tour follows the footsteps of merchants from the River Thames into the heart of the City, explaining how trade and finance built an empire that spanned the globe and enslaved and colonised millions of people. One of the key players was the East India Company, after which the pub is named - the sole remaining building in the City to retain this link to the past.
