Learn more about Shepherd Neame

A historic London pub in the heart of the City

Offering a true taste of history in London’s modern financial heart, the East India Arms has been serving the capital’s traders and tourists since 1829. Located on Fenchurch Street, not far from the Lloyd’s Avenue Junction, the East India Arms was built in the latter part of the Georgian era - but the Magpie Ale House previously occupied the same spot from at least 1645.

It’s a blissful place to enjoy a pint in the City, whether you’re a local or just passing through. With authentic wooden floors and furnishings, and wonderful old photos on the wall, you can’t help but be transported to simpler times. If you’re looking for a traditional London pub serving classic drinks and bar snacks, we’ve got you covered.

Cask ales

Our Fenchurch Street pub takes its title from the British East India Trading Company, whose old premises lie right next door. And, just as they made their name on tea and coffee, we’ve made ours on brilliant beer.

Cracking cask ales and lagers come courtesy of Britain’s oldest brewer, Shepherd Neame, and there’s a good selection of wines, ciders, spirits, and soft drinks here too.

Historic Traditional Pub

A rare historic pub, there are few left, excellent cask ale, good service, nothing fancy, no food, a charming 'watering hole'.
